This protein bar review is featuring a brand that I had not heard of until recently. Robert Irvine’s FITCRUNCH Cookies and Cream protein bar is the next tasting, and it was quite a delicious experience!
To begin, Robert Irvine is a celebrity chef and his company makes a complete line of protein products, from protein bars, to brownies and powders. There are five protein bars so far, and I purchased four of them at one of my many grocery runs for the family. I hope to find the brownies also, and when I do I will make sure to review them as well.
These protein bars are not your usual fare. I would definitely classify them as a meal replacement bar. They have a baked soft cookie center, and are packed with a whopping 30g of protein per bar!
This bar is described as the “only 6-layer baked bar” made with whey protein isolate. As always, I will list the ingredients, but I must say, that if you are watching your weight, I wouldn’t pound down a lot of these bars, as they are thick, heavy, sweet, and basically taste like a regular candy bar.
For the bodybuilder, not training for a contest, these bars are awesome for their protein content. The sugar content is higher than a lot of protein bars that Iv’e tried, and the sugar alcohols are up there, but this particular bar was absolutely delicious.
I drank sixteen ounces of water with this bar, and I would suggest you do the same. This is not the protein bar to pair with a regular can of Monster Energy in the morning, as I do with some other bars that I have tried. That would pack sugar on top of sugar with some more sugar, if you get what I mean.
So, be smart, and drink water or another non sugar drink with this bar. These are a real treat, and they can help pack on some muscle if eaten in moderation along with a workout program. On to the ingredients.

This list is rather long, and does indicate the presence of quite a bit of sugar, however if this doesn’t affect you, I’d say give it a try. This is not a low calorie, low sugar bar, as is many of the protein bar products out there, so keep this in mind.

My Honest Review
This bar is absolutely delicious. It is one of the best tasting protein bars I have ever tried. Of course there is a reason for this. This bar has considerably more sugar in it than many of the other bars I’ve tried so far. If you can get past this issue, it is really worth trying.
It can be a great source of protein when used with a weight training program. And if you don’t have to worry about sugar, I would definitely at least give this a try. I personally couldn’t eat these on a regular basis, but on occasion it really hits the spot when looking for a sweet treat and a decent amount of protein.
This bar contains 16g of sugar alcohol, so I would not eat more than one of these bars in a twenty four hour period. That’s just me, because large amounts of sugar alcohol causes stomach upset. If it doesn’t bother you, try it. I am almost positive that you will like it.
It tastes basically like a candy bar with layers of flavors. There is a delicious crunch, with a creamy white filling and has a texture of chocolate cake underneath the creamy filling. It also has a crunchy, milk chocolate ring around the bar. Very filling, and very tasty and has 30g of protein per bar. What’s not to love about this bar, except a decent amount of sugar, which I can deal with every once in a while. I fully recommend a try!
