On a recent trip to the neighborhood grocery store, I came upon a bunch of different flavors of Quest Bars. There were 12 to be exact, and many of the flavors looked very intriguing. Quest bars have been one of the most popular protein bars for a while, and I decided to pick up three flavors to review this week. The first bar up is the Quest White Chocolate Raspberry Protein Bar, which sounds delicious.
Quest Bars are known to have a short ingredients list and use stevia as their sweetener of choice for this particular bar. I have never tried any of the regular Quest bars up until this point, although I have reviewed two Hero Bars, that is another type of protein bar Quest produces that is a bit thicker than the regular ones.
You can check out the Hero Blueberry Cobbler and Vanilla Caramel flavors to see how they compare to the regular Quest Bars by clicking the links. Now lets take a look at the ingredients.
List Of Ingredients
Protein Blend (Milk Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate), Soluble Corn Fiber, Almonds, Water, Cocoa Butter, Raspberries, Natural Flavors, Erythritol. Contains Less Than 2% Of The Following: Sodium Caseinate, Sea Salt, Sunflower Lecithin, Steviol Glycosides (Stevia), Sucralose.
As you can see, the list is short and rather clean, and as I always say, the fewer ingredients the better in most cases.
Important Nutrition Facts
Serving Size – 1 Bar, Calories 200, Total Fat 8g, Saturated Fat 3g, Trans Fat 0g, Cholesterol 5mg, Sodium 220mg, Total Carbohydrate 22g, Dietary Fiber 15g, Sugars 1g, Erythritol 2g, Protein 20g.
This protein bar has a nice amount of dietary fiber, which is a plus, just don’t eat too many of them in a twenty-four hour period.
My Honest Review
When I opened the wrapper, I got virtually no smell at all. The bar has a solid consistency with nice sized pieces of white chocolate throughout, as well as little bits of raspberry.
The bar is not dry, but it is not all together moist either. It has the consistency of nougat, and I don’t mind the texture. It has a very mild protein taste, but does not deter from the overall flavor of the bar, which is very tasty.
I can see why these bars are so popular, they make a perfect mid day snack, and the flavor is appealing. With 20g protein per bar, it will give you a good amount of protein in you diet. This bar is not a meal replacement, and it would be a good idea to have a beverage with it, I have a bottle of water to wash it down and it worked well.
I am looking forward to trying all the Quest Bars, and more reviews will be forthcoming. I would highly suggest trying the White Chocolate Raspberry. It is not quite like eating a sugary candy bar, but it is close. Pick one up and taste for yourself. Good stuff.
