When I was younger, I didn’t like coconut. The taste and texture turned me off. However, as I got older I gained a liking for it, so whenever I get a protein bar to try with coconut in the ingredients, I normally want to indulge.
This review of the Pottentia Coconut Almond Protein Bar is no different, and is the last of the three flavors from Pottentia that I received in the mail from Amazon.
I reviewed two of their other flavors, Double Chocolate, which I liked, and Peanut Butter Chocolate, which I liked less. So, I am somewhat excited to taste the Pottentia coconut version, because coconut is now a flavor which I enjoy.
List Of Ingredients
Grass Fed Whey Protein Concentrate, Chicory Root Fiber, Dates, Almonds, Coconut, Vanilla Bean.
Like the other two bars that I have reviewed by Pottentia, the Coconut Almond bar has very few ingredients. This is a good thing. The more recognizable the ingredients the better.

The Coconut Almond is low in calories as compared to other bars I’ve tried that are full of sugar. There is also 9g of Fiber which is a bonus in my opinion. The fact that there is no sugar alcohol is also a plus. This protein bar is quite healthy, with good, clean ingredients.
My Honest Review
As I tear open the package, right away I notice nice pieces of coconut throughout the bar. Although the consistency and texture is similar to the other bars by Pottentia, the coconut almond is a bit more moist and has a more noticeable crunch, obviously from the coconut and bits of almond.
It is defiantly more moist than the dry peanut butter chocolate, which was not my favorite. As I chew, the bar gets smoother, and the coconut taste is apparent.
The dates in the bar give it a nice chew, almost like the consistency of nougat. The flavor is mild, much like the other Pottentia bars, but is satisfying. Eating the coconut almond is like the two others in the sweet of the protein flavor. This is not an overly sweet, sugary protein bar, which is good when a bit of protein is wanted without the sticky sweet sugary consistency of many other bars.
There is a time and place for sweet and sugary, but sometimes I don’t want to be overwhelmed by a protein bar that eats like a candy bar. This protein bar is definitely healthy tasting. Don’t expect to get a full feeling with one bar.
I would say these bars by Pottentia should be eaten as a snack, they are definitely not meal replacement bars. The coconut almond flavor is tasty, and it makes for a nice midday snack, but I don’t don’t think these bars are for building much muscle, unless you eat more than one. They are good though, and are definitely worth a try.
