In this post, I will review the ONE Maple Glazed Doughnut Protein Bar. I reviewed one other protein bar from ONE Brands, LLC, the Peanut Butter Pie, and it was delicious!
They have many flavors and I am looking forward to tasting all of them at one time or another. The ingredients in this bar are pretty standard fare in the protein bar world, so there are no real surprises here. Let’s take a look at what’s in this particular protein bar.
List Of Ingredients
Protein Blend (Whey Protein Isolate, Milk Protein Isolate), Isomalto-Oligosaccharides (Prebiotic Fiber from Vegetable Sources), Vegetable Glycerin, Maltitol, Sunflower Seed Butter, Blend Of Vegetable Oil (Palm, Palm Kernel), Natural Flavors, Maltodextrin, Nonfat Dry Milk, Soy Lecithin (an Emulsifier), Sea Salt, Tapioca Starch, Calcium Carbonate, Cocoa Powder (Processed With Alkali), Distilled Monoglycerides, Sucralose and Colored with Paprika Extract.
The only ingredient that I have not encountered up to this point is sunflower seed butter, which I never knew was a “thing”, now I know. The ingredients are not clean in this bar, but I have seen a lot worse. I can say that I have never tried a maple glazed doughnut flavored protein bar, so I am looking forward to this tasting.

My Honest Review
As I open the wrapper on this protein bar, I get the immediate smell of maple, which I love. This is one of my favorite aromas, and to have it hit me this strong on the first whiff is encouraging.
Interesting enough, as I continue to smell after I take a first bit, the intense maple aroma dissipates. It draws me in and then sort of lets me down a bit, as all I smell now is a mild protein aroma.
The bar is surrounded by a delicious, sweet, sugary confectionery type coating. The middle of the bar has the consistency of soft cake, bordering on nugat. The bar appears dry, but as I continue to chew, it softens up into a nice chewy, moist consistency. There is an ever so slight crunch.
The flavor is very satisfying, as it does taste a bit like a maple glazed doughnut, but there is a slight aftertaste. It’s not all that bad though, and doesn’t take away my enjoyment of this bar. I am drinking water as I eat the bar, and I would suggest you do the same if you decide to try the bar.
I would definitely eat this bar again for a quick snack, or even before or after a workout to get a decent shot of protein. I wouldn’t consider this a meal replacement. The flavor was enjoyable, it is not overly sweet, but it is sweeter than many other protein bars that I have tasted.
If you like the flavor of maple, I think you may like this protein bar, and it packs 20g of protein which is good, and it also contains 10g dietary fiber, which is a bonus for me. I would give this bar a try for a protein packed treat. It is almost like eating a candy bar, but falls just short of that, as there is a bit of a protein taste, but it is very minor. Good stuff!
