Munk Pack Oatmeal Raisin Spice Protein Cookie Review

In this post I will review the Monk Pack Oatmeal Raisin Spice Protein Cookie. I previously tasted two other protein cookies from Munk Pack, the White Chip Macadamia, and the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and I enjoyed and recommended both of them.Munk Pack Oatmeal Raisin Spice Protein Cookie

Oatmeal Raisin Spice is not one of my favorite flavor mixtures in the world, but I am excited to try this cookie just the same, as the others were so good. Let’s take a look at what’s in this cookie.

List Of Ingredients

Peanut Butter, Cane Sugar, Gluten Free Oats, Raisins, Plant Protein (Brown Rice Protein, Pea Protein), Gluten Free Oat Flour, Vegetable Glycerin, Cinnamon, Gluten Free Oat Fiber, Baking Powder, Xanthan Gum, Green Tea Extract (Decaffeinated), Sunflower Lecithin, Sea Salt, Nutmeg, Cloves, Monk Fruit Extract.

At first glance at the front of the packaging, it is not apparent that there is peanut butter in the cookie. But it is first on the list of ingredients, so keep this in mind if you or someone you know has a peanut allergy and wants to try this cookie.

Much of the ingredients in the cookie looks like it is basically nutritious, and I found it interesting that there is clove and green tea extract in the cookie. The ingredients are not clean, but seem decent.

Important Nutrition Facts

Serving Size – 1/2 Cookie, Calories 160, Total Fat 7g, Saturated Fat 1g, Trans Fat 0g, Cholesterol 0mg, Sodium 80mg, Total Carbohydrates 18g, Dietary Fiber 3g, Total Sugars 8g, Included Added Sugars 6g, Sugar Alcohols 0g, Protein 9g.

As with most of the other protein cookies Iv’e tried, the nutrition facts need to be doubled if you intend to eat the whole cookie. There is no sugar alcohols in this cookie and it has a small amount of dietary fiber.

My Honest Review

When I open the packaging, the aroma of spice, cinnamon and cloves were prominent. It smelled like potpourri to me. There is no protein smell at all and the cookie is thick but rather small.

The cookie starts out a bit dry on the first bite, but becomes moist and chewy after a few chews. I am a bit surprised that the flavor of the cookie was rather mild, considering the aroma was strong when I opened the package.Munk Pack Oatmeal Raisin Spice Protein Cookie

There is an abundance of raisins throughout the cookie that gives it a nice, mild flavor. There is no crunch to the cookie to speak of, there is virtually no protein taste at all, and very little aftertaste. This cookie as a whole, tastes very good and it is very filling.

I am drinking a bottle of water with the cookie, and I would suggest a beverage if you decide to try it. There is quite a bit of calories and carbs in it, so eat in moderation if you are watching calories and carbs.

I would definitely recommend trying this cookie, and it would make a good snack to get some protein and a bit of fiber. This is a product I would eat again, it is tasty and satisfying. If you like raisins and clove, you should like this cookie.
