The review is the final tasting from the variety pack that I purchased from Mauer Sports Nutrition. I will be reviewing the Mauer Organic Trim Chocolate Brownie Weight Management Bar. I don’t consider this to be a typical protein bar, very much the same as the Mauer Organic Trim Peanut Crunch Weight Management Bar that I also reviewed.
These bars have a lower amount of protein as compared to other bars by Mauer, but the ingredients are completely organic, which makes these two bars very healthy and nutritious. I liked the Peanut Crunch Bar a lot, so let’s see how it compares to the Chocolate Brownie bar.
List Of Ingredients
Organic Prebiotic Fiber, Organic Peanut Butter, Organic Chocolate (Organic Unsweetened Chocolate, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Cocoa Butter), Organic Pea Protein, Organic Cacao Nibs, Organic Cocoa Powder, Organic Chocolate Flavor, Organic Svetol, Organic Stevia, Organic Sunflower Lecithin.
The ingredients are organic, and there is Stevia in the bar. There are also peanuts, so keep this in mind if you or someone you know has a peanut allergy, because the chocolate brownie flavor might throw you off, as it did me at first.

My Honest Review
When I first opened the wrapper, I get a mild chocolate smell. There is a solid chocolate coating around the bar that appears dry. As I take a bite and begin to chew, the bar is somewhat crunchy, but it moistens up as I continue to chew.
Although the coating appears dry, it s actually quite wet and moist. The center of the bar has a chocolate brownie texture and consistency. It is not sweet at all, and in actuality it is quite bitter. It eats like a dark chocolate, high cacao bar, which I don’t really care for.
Of all the Mauer bars that I have tasted, this one is the least tasty. I am not saying that it tastes bad, it just isn’t as sweet as the others and it was a bit of a surprise.
There is definitely a protein taste to the bar, and there is a bitter aftertaste, which I washed down with a bottle of water, which I would suggest if you decide to try this bar.
Nutritionally, this bar is sound, and it is low in calories. With only 10g of protein, I wouldn’t say this is a product to consume if you are trying to gain muscle along with a workout program.
It is a good snacking bar with clean ingredients, and you may like it, especially if you like bitter chocolate, which many people do. I am not a big fan, but give it a try, you might like it. All in all, Mauer Sports Nutrition produces quality, nutritious products, and they are all worth a taste.
