In this post I will review the last of the three hemp protein bars that I received from Amazon by Hemplete. In this tasting, I will give my opinion on the Hemplete Cocoa + Coco Hemp Protein Bar. I reviewed two other bars from Hemplete, the Peanut Butter Sea Salt and Cashew Berry and I was quite impressed with both. They provided solid nutrition and tasted pretty good. I had not eaten anything with hemp before, and was pleasantly surprised by the taste.
The smell and flavor were both earthy, and I felt like I was doing good for myself in terms of nutrition and trying something new and exotic. At leas that’s how I look at it.
The ingredients in this hemp protein bar are few, but relatively clean, so let’s take a look at what is in the Cocoa + Coco bar.
List Of Ingredients
Hemp Protein Concentrate, Organic Almond Butter, Non-GMO Soluble Tapioca Fiber, Water, Organic Cashew Butter, Organic Coconut Nectar, Organic Coconut, Organic Cocoa, Organic Hemp Seeds, Organic Vanilla Extract, Sea Salt, Organic Coconut Oil, Stevia.
As you can see, there is a lot of organic ingredients, and this is one of the reasons that I liked the other bars from Hemplete so much. And they also tasted quite good, although the earthy taste be a bit to get used to for some.

My Honest Review
When I open the wrapper, I get a very earthy smell of hemp, similar to the other two bars that I reviewed from Hemplete. One thing that I noticed right away is that the bar was very shiny and oily, which I did not expect.
Drinking a bottle of water with this bar will go a long way in helping to wash out the oily texture of the bar, and it is very soft and chewy. There is a very slight gritty texture to the bar, but not bad at all. There is no crunch to speak of.
There is that earthy hemp flavor that I tasted when I tried the other bars, but there is also a mild cocoa flavor, which works well and is quite tasty. Be prepared to get your hands a bit oily if you decide to try this protein bar, but the flavor makes up for any oily residue that it may cause.
The bar is solid with no layering. I really enjoy the mild cocoa taste, and I feel that I am eating something healthy, nourishing, but yet satisfying in terms of flavor. This bar will make a great snack to get some extra protein and fiber in a diet.
I don’t consider this a meal replacement, and I would eat one before or after a workout. Consider giving this hemp protein bar a try if you are looking for a protein lift without the sweet taste of a candy bar. It is mild and tasty!
